Workplace Health and Safety

Documentation

  • Health and safety policy documented
  • Risk assessments completed for job types
  • Safe work method statements (SWMS) for high-risk work
  • Incident reporting procedures in place
  • First aid kit stocked and accessible

Equipment and PPE

  • Test and tag equipment annually
  • Insulated tools in good condition
  • PPE available and used (safety glasses, gloves, boots)
  • Fall protection equipment inspected
  • Lock-out/tag-out equipment available

Electrical Testing and Certification

  • Test equipment calibrated annually
  • Test results recorded and retained (minimum 7 years)
  • Certificates of electrical safety issued for all work
  • Certificate of compliance issued where required
  • Switchboard labeling up to date

Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Job records complete and filed
  • Customer invoices and receipts retained
  • Tax records maintained (7 years)
  • Employee records (if applicable)
  • Subcontractor agreements and insurance certificates

Tax Compliance

  • GST/BAS returns lodged on time (if registered)
